PUNK IDEAS AS AN IMPULSE FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION RESEARCH AND PRACTICE
- 1 Ústav speciální pedagogiky, Fakulta veřejných politik v Opavě, Slezská univerzita v Opavě
The topic of the article is punk pedagogy, an approach that has been neglected in Czech pedagogical literature, with possible consequences for the practice of special education. The aim is to open a professional discussion on the applicability of its methods, not only when working with students with problematic behavior. The method used was a monographic approach. Given that the practice of punk pedagogy is not yet theoretically anchored in relation to Czech special education, the presented text draws from foreign sources, including scientific articles, research reports, conference proceedings, but also web portals dealing with punk subculture and sources from related fields. Based on the results obtained from the analysis of these sources, it can be cautiously stated that the punk pedagogical approach carries interesting potential, especially in the areas of DIY ethos, community cooperation, authenticity, emphasis on mutual respect and critical thinking. Future research should focus on examining the possibilities of practical application, but also potential limitations and risks associated with the implementation of this educational alternative.
